Much the way I do not understand poor, uneducated, blue-collar or service industry workers in the South voting for rich, privileged, Ivy League, Republicans to represent their best interests, I find Gay Republicans to be another oxymoron.
On a tacky reality series on Style, A-List Dallas, one of the characters is a gay Republican and his idol is, get this, Ann Coulter! Are you fucking kidding me? Ann Coulter is the Antichrist as far as I am concerned. This is the same woman who says that being gay is a sickness and that giving gay people rights is “idiotic”.
Not only does this character, Taylor, adore her, he had the opportunity to sit down to lunch with Skeletor’s mistress and discuss what he felt was wrong with the gay community and she was all too happy to agree with him.
Gay Republicans are ridiculous and an embarrassment. It is one thing to agree with their financial policies, which are as ludicrous as their social policies, but to revere them and support them with gay votes is like a Civil War era slave voting against the Emancipation Proclamation because he agreed with his master’s belief that slavery was good for the economy.
Gays are a unique minority in that we are made up of all races, creeds, religions, and political persuasions. But to actually vote against not only one’s own best interest but against your own gay brethren is unforgiveable.
I say to Gay Republicans, what the fuck is wrong with you?
